I've written this entry about ten times now and it just doesn't seem to come out the way I want it to. Basically, I want to tell you all to please come visit my new blog. I have accepted a blogging position over at the new blog network 451press.com. The new blog is called Tot TV Watch and I'll be writing about children's TV shows. Please come visit and leave me some love. I know it's not the most interesting topic for some of you but I could really use your support. The site is covered in ads, but that's how I get paid so I hope they aren't too bothersome. Feel free to click on as many as you would like.
The scary part about all of this is that I'm using my real name and leaving my anonymity behind. I would like to make one little request though. Please don't mention this blog if you leave a comment over there, okay? I'm going to share the new site with my family and would prefer that they stay over there and don't end up here.
And, if you are so inclined, feel free to check out some of the other blogs over at 451press. I've already "met" some really nice people over there.
So I haven't posted anything here in almost a week now. I'm not really sure why I thought I could keep up with yet another blog, but I really do like Vox and didn't want to miss my chance to jump in the boat early.
Really things have been rather slow, which is very nice for a change. I've been working on an extra project for one of the guys in our office this week which has been taking up quite a bit of my free time. It is (hopefully) finished now and I actually got paid for doing it which is nice cause I certainly needed the money.
The rest of the week I will be preparing for our weekend trip to the lake. Somehow I need to fit in a trip to Wal-Mart (diapers) and Sam's (drinks and snacks), get my car in to check out the noise it has been making and get an oil change, take the dog to my sister's house, do laundry, pack bags, swimming supplies, snacks, and tons of sunscreen, and get a haircut. It doesn't seem like that much to do, but when you work all day and then have a fussy toddler clinging to your legs the rest of the evening it is hard to accomplish much.
p.s. Does anyone use the Yahoo! Unlimited music service? If so, what do you think of it?
Recently, my boss upgraded all of our office computers (all 3) to laptops. He finally decided that it would be nice for us to be able to take our work home when necessary and he "accidently" won two e-bay auctions on laptops he wanted for himself. Being at the bottom of the totem pole, I didn't get one of the new ones, but instead got his old one that he bought about a year ago. It's nice enough and I'm not complaining becuause I would much rather have the laptop than than the big desktop that I had before.
My old desktop is now being used as a server for us to store files on that we all need to access. But, since there was nowhere else to put it, it is still back here in my corner of the office. That means I had to do some serious organizing and re-arranging of things. I have spent the majority of the afternoon digging through old dusty files and piles of papers, throwing things away, and finding new places to store the things that need to be kept. I have been needing to do this for quite some time now, so it was actually good that I kind of got forced into it.
The bad part of this is that every time I stir up even the slightest bit of dust, my allergies go absolutely haywire. My eyes are all itchy and I have a massive headache. But, my office space is looking better. Well, it will look better anyway once I finish finding places to put all the crap on my desk.
